Marketers on the Move: Hires and Exits at Pandora, Pret, and More

This week has been another revolving door of hires, departures, and promotions at brands, from CMO appointments to marketers moving into the CEO role.
We’re rounding up the U.S. and global marketing leadership moves you should know about for the week ending Oct. 3.
– Pandora‘s CMO Berta de Pablos-Barbier is stepping into the CEO seat. The former LVMH exec will replace outgoing boss Alexander Lacik, who is stepping down in 2026.
– Another example of a marketer taking the top seat: ex-Ruggable CMO Jenna Habayeb has joined kids and family clothing brand Posh Peanut as president. “This new chapter is especially meaningful because it blends everything I love: fashion, brand building, customer connection, and scaling a business with heart,” she wrote on LinkedIn.
– Squishmallows maker Jazwares has picked Michelle Wong as svp, global marketing. She was previously CMO at cupcake chain Sprinkles.
– Firehouse Subs has named former Tim Hortons marketer Carolina Berti as U.S. and Canada CMO. She’ll oversee brand, menu innovation, and guest engagement strategies.
– Mexican fast casual restaurant chain QDOBA has promoted Jon Burke from vp of national marketing to CMO. He’ll oversee storytelling, integrated marketing and media, digital engagement, culinary innovation, and more.
– British coffee and sandwich chain Pret A Manger has hired Matthew Bresnahan as CMO. He joins from Restaurant Brands International, where he’s been for the past 12 years. His appointment comes as Pret continues to expand in the U.K. and U.S.
