Mark Zuckerberg fumbles Meta Ray-Ban Display showcase at Connect 2025 keynote

Meta Connect 2025 kicked off with a keynote today, and CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed the translucent Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses with a live demo. While the glasses did show potential, everything that could go wrong did go wrong.

Zuckerberg introduced the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses at the Meta Connect 2025 keynote. To his credit, Zuckerberg opted for the live demo instead of playing it safe, but the move did not pay off. While showcasing the capabilities of the glasses, Zuckerberg was unable to answer a video call, became flustered, and had to abandon that portion of the demo.

We did get a glimpse of some of the features, however. The Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses come with a Meta Neural Band which allows users to use hand movements to navigate the display as well as write messages using hand movements. Dictation is an option, but that was not part of the demo. The Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses also come with a translucent screen, 18 hours of battery life, are water resistant, and include two transition glasses for indoor and outdoor use. They will be available on September 30, 2025, for $799 USD.
