Mark Sanchez has been permanently sidelined at Fox Sports. The former NFL quarterback and Fox Sports analyst has been fired by the network following an alleged attack on a truck driver last month in Indianapolis. “We can confirm that Mark Sanchez is no longer with the network,” a Fox Sports spokesperson told Deadline. There will be no further comment at this time.” Sanchez was charged with a felony and three misdemeanors after an altercation Oct. 4 in which truck driver, Perry Tole, age 69, and Sanchez, age 38, fought in an alley between two Indianapolis hotels. The fight led to Sanchez being stabbed and Tole suffering “significant and very severe injuries,” Marion County prosecutor Ryan Mears said. Tole also has filed a civil suit against Sanchez and Fox Sports’ parent company Fox Corporation. Sanchez has been off the air since the incident and remains free on bond as he awaits a Dec. 11 trial. He could face one to six years in prison if convicted. He declined to discuss the allegations after he was booked Oct. 12, saying he was focused on his recovery. Watch on Deadline Fox Sports also announced Friday that Super Bowl-winning quarterback Drew Brees was joining the network as a game analyst. He will replace Sanchez on the crew with Adam Amin and Kristina Pink starting in Week 11, ESPN reported. “I appreciate the opportunity Fox has given me in the booth and with their team,” Brees said in a statement. “I hope my passion for this game is reflected in the knowledge and insights I provide to the fans each Sunday.”
