Mark McKenzie reckons Ayr are ready to start rolling after landing their first league win of the season. United notched an impressive three points at Dunfermline on Tuesday night courtesy of McKenzie's strike. The utility man struck with a poacher's finish for his first goal of the campaign - now he hopes there's plenty more to come. He smiled: "I don't care how far out they are as long as I'm in the right place to score them. It's about being in the right areas and they all add up over the season. "We've been close a few times this season and hopefully we can kick on from here and kickstart our season. "Dunfermline is a tough place to go, you could see how well drilled they were and even with 10 men they made us dig in for the win "But we'll have to do that throughout the season if we want to get three points. "We've worked a lot on our shape and we worked really hard for each other on Tuesday night. "We want to go on a run now and that starts with Airdrie. We feel like we've missed out on some points in the early part of the season so it's important that we pick a few more up from here." Boss Scott Brown is a huge fan of McKenzie's workrate and hailed his Mr Reliable for coming up with the big moment in Fife. He said: "I was delighted for Mark to get up and running. He's been in the right place at the right time and that's all about his anticipation to get in the right area. "We look to kick on now and the good thing is we have competition for places right throughout the squad. It's exactly how we want it and the lads know all the jerseys are up for grabs."
