Mario Balotelli has hit out at Patrick Vieira after the former Arsenal midfielder was sacked as manager of Genoa. Vieira departs after less than a year in the hot seat with the team in last place in Serie A. Balotelli and Vieira have shared a contentious relationship with the Italian playing under the Frenchman at Nice, and joining Genoa just a month before he was appointed boss . Alberto Gilardino oversaw Balotelli's signing but was soon dismissed in favour of the World Cup winner. During their time together in France, Viera suggested that Balotelli's mindset 'isn't made for team sports' and that 'it's very difficult for me to work with him'. The former Manchester City striker barely featured under Vieira before leaving Genoa at the end of last season. And following Vieira's sacking, Balotelli wasted little time in offering his view on the Serie A side's decision. "Karma is a b****," he posted on Instagram . "God sees everything and takes care of the rest. Now Genoa can finally focus on people who really like the environment, supporters and the badge and who deeply believe that Genoa deserves to be at the top. "The excellent work done by Gilardino and Zangrillo was not in vain. It was simply exploited in a selfish and dishonest way by those who succeeded them, taking advantage of what they had built with relentlessness, respect and passion. "They exploited the immense work of Gilardino and Zangrillo, their commitment and dedication to these colours, without really understanding their value." Genoa confirmed the news on Saturday with the team bottom of Serie A and without a win all season. Vieira only signed a new contract with the Italian side over the summer after being linked with former club Inter Milan "Genoa CFC announces that Patrick Vieira is no longer the coach of the First Team," Genoa said in a statement. "The club would like to thank the coach and his staff for the dedication and professionalism they have shown throughout their work and wishes them all the best for their future careers. "The technical leadership of the First Team has been entrusted on an interim basis to Mister Roberto Murgita, assisted by Mister Domenico Criscito," they added. Genoa's next game is on Monday, away to Sassuolo. Join our new WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content.
