They intervene when a badge isn't necessary but a guiding hand is, avoiding police intervention in balancing individual and community wellbeing. Outlined in the City’s recent announcement, the CRN program works alongside first responders to provide mental health support in situations where a uniformed presence is not required but a crisis still demands immediate and personalized attention. The program’s efforts have continued to highlight the importance of accessible community-based care, particularly following Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
