Marcus Rashford reacts to scoring first Barcelona goals - 'It’s more about being confident'

Marcus Rashford was the difference maker for Barcelona in their Champions League victory over Newcastle United at St James’ Park. The on-loan Manchester United star scored twice in the second half to ensure a 2-1 victory for the Catalans.
Those goals were also Rashford’s first for Barcelona, and after the match (via MD), he reacted to each of the strikes.
“I only saw the second goal and it was certainly a great game in a difficult stadium. We played a very good game. In the header I attacked the space a little earlier because I find that space in the Newcastle area and that’s where I attack. I focused on keeping the ball down. The header is more difficult for me. With the second one, I have scored more of those types of goal.
“I hope to keep scoring a few more. In the second one the technique was very good, but it’s something I’ve worked on all my life. It’s more about being confident, shooting and daring when you’re in front of goal. To score one of these again in a game is perfect.”
Rashford speaks on start to life at Barcelona
Rashford has now managed to break his duck as a Barcelona player, having failed to find the back of the net in any of their opening four La Liga matches. He admitted that his start to life at the club had not been easy, although he expects to continue getting better and better as time goes on.
“We have a team with top players. It’s difficult to arrive in a new city, a new culture, but I’m enjoying it and I’m getting more and more comfortable. As time goes by I’ll improve my football.”
Barcelona will certainly hope that Rashford will be a very important player this season, and in this victory, he has already started to prove his worth.
