Mangaluru: In a remarkable achievement that has brought immense pride to the city and the nation, Avniel Saveo D’Souza from Attavar Babugudda, Mangaluru, has won a gold and a silver medal in the sub-junior 53 kg category (equipped and classic) at the Asian Bench Press Championship held in Hong Kong.
Avniel, a student of St Aloysius Degree College, showcased exceptional strength and focus, outshining several talented athletes from across Asia to earn top honours. His performance has been widely lauded by the local sporting community, marking yet another proud moment for Karnataka in the international sporting arena.

The young powerlifter, son of Oliver and Sangeetha Anil D’Souza, has consistently demonstrated excellence in his sport.
