Manchester United ready to sign Real Madrid maestro; €80m fee mooted

Manchester United want to sign Real Madrid star Eduardo Camavinga Manchester United have been looking to bring in a new midfielder in 2026, given the pressing need to get reinforcements in the middle of the park. And we have seen the Premier League heavyweights being linked with a move for some of the most technical midfielders in Europe in recent times. And now Manchester Reds have identified their prime target to resolve second-phase problems. Ruben Amorim & Co. are said to be looking at a possible move to bring Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga to Old Trafford next summer. With Spanish outlet Fichajes stating that United are lining up an offer in the region of €80 million to bring the French international to M16. Currently, the Portuguese head coach has been looking to add need more control and dynamism to his midfield. And with that having that defensive cover is very much so important. And this is where Camavinga fits the bill. He is not only technically viable but also has a good engine. Moreover, his experience at the highest level in La Liga and the Champions League needs to count as well. While the decision-makers at Carrington see Camavinga as an ideal option, the club will need to work a bit to secure his signature. Given that he is already employed by one of Europe’s elite clubs, he needs to be sold on the project at Old Trafford. And the aforementioned report raises the question of whether United can “convince the French international to join the club.” Current midfield situation at Old Trafford While there are midfielders already at Old Trafford, they don’t really give United exactly what Amorim needs. To start with, Casemiro is ageing, and there are talks that the Brazilian international can possibly bid adieu to Old Trafford when the summer comes around. Ugarte has struggled to find his feet at M16, while Mainoo is not preferred by Amorim. And this is where a need to bring someone like Eduardo Camavinga comes up. WAFU Opinion With Eduardo Camavinga, you do get a highly technical presence in the middle of the park. But then so was Ugarte with his defensive attributes before his eventual move to Old Trafford from PSG. The question for me is not only about if Camavinga can do it, but also whether the setup at United will give him the environment to succeed.
