Manchester coffee shop owners 'truly sad' to announce closure of popular city centre branch

A Manchester-based coffee shop has announced the closure of its city centre branch, leaving customers "gutted". From November 2, popular cafe Sipp, located in Ancoats, Manchester, will be closing its doors for the final time. In a post shared on social media, the owners explained that they are "truly sad" to be closing the branch. The owners, Zak Haddad and Haseeb Rahman, took to Instagram to break the sad news. They wrote: "Ancoats, it's been fun. After an incredible journey, our time at Ancoats General Store has come to an end. "This little corner of Ancoats is where we first began and it will always hold a special place in our hearts. "It's where we poured our first coffees, met our first regulars and started building the community that means so much to us. "We're truly sad to be closing this chapter, but so grateful for everyone who's supported us along the way. "It's been a pleasure serving you - from the early mornings to the weekend rushes, every moment here has meant something." But the local coffee shop teased that this isn't the end for Manchester city centre . They added: "But this isn't goodbye... You can still find us over at our Chorlton site, where the same good vibes and all your food and drink favourites are waiting." A Sipp branch opened up in Chorlton earlier this year on Beech Road, which is remaining open for customers wanting to get their coffee fix. Zak and Haseeb's post continued: "Our last day at Ancoats GS will be 2nd November. And not to say too much, but we'll be back in the city centre soon... "With love, Zak and Haseeb." Upon learning the sad news, customers ran to the comments to share how "gutted" they are about the coffee shop closure. One cafe-goer commented: "NOOOO genuinely so gutted as you know Sip is our go to, we will miss it!! Keep smashing it guys and even more reason to come visit in Chorlton! Maybe a new opening in Manchester central in the future?" Another wrote: "Absolutely gutted to see you guys move out of Ancoats but excited for the future for you both! Will 100% come see you both at Charlton soon too!" One customer commented: "You guys will be missed!! where am I supposed to get my daily matcha fix from now??", and another wrote: "I am heartbroken pls find another NQ or ancoats unit." As well as speciality coffee, Sipp is known for its mushroom drinks and superfood smoothies, plus baked goods and quick breakfasts. Customers have described their mushroom matcha as "divine", while other have said their freshly brewed coffee is "the best" in Manchester. Though quite different for caffeine lovers, some of their coffee-based drinks contain apoptogenic mushroom blends which the team say have a lot of health benefits including helping with brain function, and boosting energy levels and immunity. Those who aren't so keen on mushrooms needn't worry though as the drinks don't take on the taste of the fungi. In terms of other drinks varieties, they are also well-known for their iced matcha, in flavours including sour cherry, blueberry, coconut and raspberry, and their superfood smoothies, which they'll be serving at their new branch in south Manchester too.
