Manchester Airport issues major update for Etihad, Emirates and easyJet passengers

Etihad, Emirates and easyJet will be the latest airlines to move their operations to Terminal 2, Manchester Airport has announced, with changes expected from this week. In recent weeks airlines have moved from Terminals 1 and 3 to the new-look Terminal 2 as the airport nears the completion of its £1.3billion transformation programme. Once finished around 75 per cent of the airport’s passengers will use the new terminal, with all airlines except Ryanair operating from it. Several airlines such as Aer Lingus, British Airways, Icelandair and Turkish Airlines have already moved their operations. Emirates will follow on November 18, then easyJet will join them on November 19. The airport said all passengers will be contacted directly by their airline to confirm details, and airport colleagues will be on hand to support the moves. Passengers flying from Terminal 2 will be able to benefit from the new facilities and outlets which have already opened at Terminal 2, including the Lego shop, Joe and The Juice, and Pandora. An extension to the terminal opened in 2021 and the airport is now in the final stages of overhauling the original Terminal 2 building to bring it up to the same standard as the extension, mirroring the modern look and feel. As part of the plans Terminal 1 will close, and part of the space will be used to expand Terminal 3 with multi-million pound improvement plans already underway. Some new parts of Terminal 3 will open early next year, including new sports bar Sporting Chance. For more of today's top stories, click here.
