Man Utd news: Ruben Amorim 'stressed' as new Red Devils problem comes to light

Manchester United's superb streak of results carried on as they demolished Brighton on Saturday . Ruben Amorim's squad have now claimed three consecutive top-flight victories . Despite facing intense scrutiny at the start of the season, Amorim appears to have completely transformed the situation . His United side have triumphed in five of their past seven fixtures and have climbed significantly up the Premier League standings. In the clash with Brighton, several summer additions were prominently featured as Matheus Cunha netted his maiden United goal to break the deadlock, whilst Bryan Mbeumo bagged a brace after the interval. One notable absentee from the 4-2 triumph was Luke Shaw. Shaw had shone in the 2-1 success against arch-rivals Liverpool the previous week, and Amorim has now revealed the reasoning behind his omission. Daily Star Sport delivers all the latest updates from Old Trafford, including why United's boss has been feeling the strain. This sequence of fixtures has represented a remarkable transformation from Amorim's opening to the campaign. His team managed just four points from their opening four encounters and suffered an embarrassing Carabao Cup exit to Grimsby Town, reports the Mirror . However, these victories have completely altered the mood at Old Trafford. Fresh recruit Cunha acknowledges that the manager's approach has evolved too, with Amorim having been anxious during their losing run. "Everyone has full confidence in Amorim. He is someone who pushes us forward," Cunha revealed following the Brighton triumph. "He is always very stressed until we start to win, and then he improves every day. "Of course, he deserves this. Man United deserve this. This needs to be the normal for this club. I am so happy to be a part of this. Amazing day, I will remember this." Cunha shone in the triumph over Brighton, though English defender Shaw was missing from action. He had been a regular fixture on the left flank of Amorim's backline at the start of the campaign. Shaw delivered an outstanding display in the victory against Liverpool, helping to neutralise their bitter rivals' offensive threats effectively. Amorim revealed that his absence from the Brighton encounter was down to sickness. "Luke Shaw is fine. He had a virus during the week," explained Amorim when questioned about Shaw. "He struggled a little bit in the game, but he's going to be ready for the next one." The Brighton victory came on the back of a remarkable away success against Liverpool. This 2-1 triumph marked United's first victory at Anfield in almost a decade. Former United defender Gary Neville believes these two results represent the finest week of Amorim's reign, though he maintains the manager's position isn't entirely guaranteed despite this progress. "I think that it feels like his best week in the job," Neville declared on Sky Sports. "I think where we've all been with it, I wouldn't have been surprised if we talked about him losing his job. I was thinking he was under massive pressure after going into the international break in October. "I felt as though that change could be imminent. He's not out of the woods yet and it's certainly not time to get carried away but I think Manchester United are now where they thought they probably would be."
