Fresh recruit Cunha acknowledges that the manager's approach has evolved too, with Amorim having been anxious during their losing run. "Everyone has full confidence in Amorim. He is someone who pushes us forward," Cunha revealed following the Brighton triumph. "He is always very stressed until we start to win, and then he improves every day. "Of course, he deserves this. Man United deserve this. This needs to be the normal for this club. I am so happy to be a part of this. Amazing day, I will remember this." Cunha shone in the triumph over Brighton, though English defender Shaw was missing from action. He had been a regular fixture on the left flank of Amorim's backline at the start of the campaign. Shaw delivered an outstanding display in the victory against Liverpool, helping to neutralise their bitter rivals' offensive threats effectively. Amorim revealed that his absence from the Brighton encounter was down to sickness. "Luke Shaw is fine. He had a virus during the week," explained Amorim when questioned about Shaw. "He struggled a little bit in the game, but he's going to be ready for the next one." The Brighton victory came on the back of a remarkable away success against Liverpool. Former United defender Gary Neville believes these two results represent the finest week of Amorim's reign, though he maintains the manager's position isn't entirely guaranteed despite this progress. "I think that it feels like his best week in the job," Neville declared on Sky Sports. "I think where we've all been with it, I wouldn't have been surprised if we talked about him losing his job. I was thinking he was under massive pressure after going into the international break in October. "I felt as though that change could be imminent.
