Manchester United's superb streak of results rolled on as they demolished Brighton on Saturday. Ruben Amorim's squad have now claimed three consecutive top-flight victories. After facing intense scrutiny at the start of the season , Amorim appears to have completely transformed the situation. His United outfit have triumphed in five of their previous seven fixtures and have climbed significantly up the Premier League standings. In the clash with Brighton, several summer signings prominently featured as Matheus Cunha netted his debut United strike to break the deadlock, whilst Bryan Mbeumo contributed a brace after the interval. One notable absentee from the 4-2 triumph was Luke Shaw . Shaw delivered an outstanding performance in the 2-1 success against fierce rivals Liverpool the previous weekend and Amorim has now revealed the circumstances behind his non-appearance. The Manchester Evening News delivers all the latest developments from Old Trafford , including why United's boss has been feeling the pressure. This sequence of fixtures has represented a dramatic transformation from Amorim's initial period in charge this season. His team managed to secure merely four points from their opening four encounters and suffered an embarrassing Carabao Cup exit at the hands of Grimsby Town . However, these victories have completely altered the mood at Old Trafford. Fresh recruit Cunha acknowledges that the manager's approach has evolved as well, revealing that Amorim was under considerable strain when his side were dropping points. "Everyone has full confidence in Amorim. He is someone who pushes us forward," Cunha commented following the Brighton victory. "He is always very stressed until we start to win, and then he improves every day. "Of course, he deserves this. Man United deserve this. This needs to be the normal for this club. I am so happy to be a part of this. Amazing day, I will remember this." Cunha shone in the triumph over Brighton but English defender Shaw was missing. He had appeared consistently on the left flank of Amorim's backline at the start of the campaign. Shaw delivered an outstanding display in the victory against Liverpool and he helped neutralise their fierce rivals' offensive threat. Amorim revealed that the reason he was absent from the Brighton encounter was due to sickness. "Luke Shaw is fine. He had a virus during the week," said Amorim when questioned about Shaw. "He struggled a little bit in the game, but he's going to be ready for the next one." United journey to Nottingham Forest next and it is anticipated that Shaw will return to the starting XI as they target four consecutive league wins. The victory against Brighton came after a remarkable away success against Liverpool. This 2-1 outcome was United's first triumph at Anfield for almost a decade. Former United defender Gary Neville believes that these two results represent the finest week of Amorim's reign, but despite this, his position is not entirely guaranteed. "I think that it feels like his best week in the job," Neville commented on Sky Sports. "I think where we've all been with it, I wouldn't have been surprised if we talked about him losing his job. I was thinking he was under massive pressure after going into the international break in October. "I felt as though that change could be imminent. He's not out of the woods yet and it's certainly not time to get carried away but I think Manchester United are now where they thought they probably would be."
