Man United latest: Gary Neville's 'well off it' verdict as Marcus Rashford talks emerge

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has given a concerned verdict after the team's winning streak was halted at Nottingham Forest. United managed to secure a point due to Amad's equaliser at the City Ground, after Sean Dyche's side had come from behind to take the lead with goals from Morgan Gibbs-White and Nicolo Savona. United entered the match on a high, having enjoyed three consecutive victories. However, Ruben Amorim's squad were less impressive against Forest , with Neville pointing out one player who failed to make a significant impact on the match. Off the pitch, United are gearing up for the forthcoming January transfer window. Reports suggest that Barcelona have been discussing the future of loanee Marcus Rashford , while United are reportedly considering a move for a highly-rated Real Madrid prospect. Neville has confessed he remains unsure about Benjamin Sesko . The young striker was one of three forwards brought in to strengthen United's attack this summer, joining for £66.4million, potentially rising to £74m, from RB Leipzig. Sesko has netted twice for United in 11 outings, with his seventh start coming in the draw at Forest. Neville, while acknowledging the immense pressure on the 22-year-old forward, confessed to NBC Sports that he was not particularly impressed by Sesko's showing against Forest. "I'm no further forward with him. The jury is out," Neville admitted. "He's well off it compared to the other summer signings that Man United made up front in Cunha and Mbeumo. "He looks awkward, he had a couple of really good opportunities in the first half - when balls got played over the top. And his touch wasn't quite right. "For £80million, you can say he's young, or has a lot of potential and he's only just settling in, but you still want to see a bit more." Marcus Rashford has been flourishing since joining Barcelona in the summer. The United loanee had found the back of the net five times and provided seven assists in 13 matches prior to the weekend, with the 28-year-old eager to extend his stay at the Camp Nou beyond this season. According to Spanish outlet Sport , Rashford's representatives have already begun discussions with Barcelona about the possibility of a permanent deal. He still has two-and-a-half years remaining on his United contract, but Barcelona have the option to purchase him for £27m in the summer. While this could be a savvy move for Barcelona, given Rashford's current form, the Spanish club's financial struggles are well known. One suggested solution is for Rashford to sign a long-term contract until 2030, which would spread out the fee, albeit on reduced terms compared to his current salary at United. United reportedly have competition from Aston Villa in their pursuit of Real Madrid youngster Endrick ahead of the January transfer window. The highly-regarded Brazilian striker officially joined Los Blancos from Palmeiras after turning 18 in 2024 and made 37 appearances across all competitions last term. However, it wasn't until Real's victory over Valencia on Sunday that Endrick made his first appearance of the season under new coach Xabi Alonso. The Brazil international's lack of game time ahead of the World Cup has sparked rumours about a potential departure from Real Madrid. The Daily Star suggests that United are considering the possibility of signing Endrick on loan in January. However, they will likely face stiff competition for the forward's signature, with Villa and Juventus among the teams also said to be interested in Endrick.
