Man sliced BBQ catering employee’s face with box cutter: police

An employee at Tri-County Barbecue Catering in Lancaster suffered a 10-centimeter cut across his face Wednesday when a man attacked him with a box cutter, police said.
David. A Dalmacy, who lives doors down from the business, was at the scene of the stabbing on the 800 block of North Queen Street when Lancaster police arrived around 9 a.m., according to an affidavit of probable cause.
Dalmacy, 31, admitted to the stabbing, the affidavit said. Police said they found a black and orange box cutter lying on the ground next to the victim’s blood, with blood on the tip.
Court documents said the victim suffered a 10-centimeter cut from his right upper cheek to his lip, as well as a 4-centimeter cut from his lip to his chin. Both were about 2 centimeters deep.
Police said the man was taken to Lancaster General Hospital for emergency treatment. His status as of Thursday is unknown.
Charging documents did not disclose a possible motive for the stabbing.
Dalmacy was charged on Wednesday with three felonies: attempted homicide and two counts of aggravated assault. He was also charged with misdemeanor counts of recklessly endangering another person and possession of an instrument of a crime.
Court records show he was unable to post $500,000 bail and is being held at Lancaster County Prison. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 29 before Magisterial District Judge John Bender.
