Man set to plead guilty Tuesday to fatal stabbing of his girlfriend in New Bedford

A Dartmouth man is expected to plead guilty to murder on Tuesday in connection with the stabbing of a 31-year-old woman. Tyler Baglini is accused of killing Kerri Fidalgo in her New Bedford home on Sept. 20 of last year. Prosecutors say the pair were in a romantic relationship at the time, WJAR reported. During Baglini’s arraignment last year, prosecutors said he arrived at St. Luke’s Hospital on Sept. 20 holding a kitchen knife believed to be the murder weapon, South Coast Today reported. Personnel at the hospital called police after Baglini claimed his girlfriend had been stabbed to death, the outlet reported. Baglini had what appeared to be dried blood on his hands, the outlet reported, citing a police report. Baglini told police serial killers stabbed Fidalgo, according to WJAR. Fidalgo worked as a New Bedford District Probation Case Specialist before her death. “Kerri will be remembered for her huge heart, happy-go-lucky personality, and her smile that could light up any room,” her obituary reads. “Always full of life, she loved travel, tattoos, and entertaining friends and family through hosting parties.”
