A man was hurt after two buses crashed into each other outside Eccles tram stop tonight. The drama happened after two Bee Network services - said to have no passengers aboard at the time - crashed into each other on Regent Street in Eccles. Police and fire crews were scrambled to the scene and a section of Regent Street was cordoned off and surrounding roads were closed. One eye-witness told the Manchester Evening News a man 'jumped in front of' one bus causing it to 'veer over and smash into another bus'. Pictures from the scene showed an area of Regent Street cordoned off with officials at the scene. A recovery truck arrived later to tow away one of the buses. Join our Traffic and Travel WhatsApp group HERE A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police said one man was hurt although they added his condition was not serious following a collision between two buses on Regent Street in Salford . Road closures remain in place around Regent Street, added the spokeswoman. A spokesperson at Transport for Greater Manchester, said: "We're aware of a collision at Eccles Interchange at around 17.00 today involving two Bee Network buses. Our staff are fully supporting Greater Manchester Fire Service and North West Ambulance Service who were both in attendance." The spokesperson also clarified no passengers were on board either service at the time.
