Man Has Car Accident—But It’s What Happens Next That Changes Everything

A man from Colorado has taken to the internet to share what happened after he got into a minor car accident, and the interaction has left social media users amazed. Andrew Briggs, 32, was driving through Denver on September 28, 2025, when the incident occurred. He told Newsweek that he was indicating and trying to move into the next lane, but none of the other drivers would stop to let him through. Instead, Briggs tried to merge, but unfortunately, there wasn’t enough space, and the other driver’s car went into the back of Briggs’s truck. Luckily, there were no injuries, and the only damage was a puncture to the other driver’s bumper. Briggs was undoubtedly stressed about what happened, telling Newsweek that all he could was “stress about money.” He dreaded how expensive it could be, especially if insurance companies were involved. Andrew Briggs, discussing what happened after the car accident in September. @realandrewbriggs / TikTok “It sounds selfish, but all I could think was ‘How am I going to pay for this?’ I didn’t know if insurance would or who was at fault,” Briggs said. He continued: “I work pretty hard to keep an emergency fund, but despite that, I was way beyond the money I had saved from a long list of unfortunate circumstances recently, including my rear windshield getting smashed in and front windshield getting cracked.” Briggs stepped out of his car and was initially furious at what happened, but he saw that the other driver had two children in the vehicle. He checked to make sure they were all OK, and couldn’t help but notice that the man was wearing a T-shirt for a band that Briggs happens to like. They exchanged insurance information and then drove away, still angry at what happened. After driving a further 20 minutes, Briggs pulled over and reached out to the other driver. He wanted to apologize and offered to handle the damage without going through their insurance companies. Almost immediately, the other man replied and told Briggs to phone him. What happened during that phone call was beyond anything Briggs anticipated. The other driver said that he’d deleted Briggs’s insurance information and didn’t want a dime from him. Indeed, the conversation flowed so naturally that they even started chatting about music and their lives for 15 minutes. “My eyes actually watered up a little because money has been extremely tight lately,” Briggs said. “I’m sure I would’ve done the same if the roles were reversed. I’m used to being the person who just takes the hit, so to speak, to help others. It felt really nice to have someone else do it, especially considering how bad my finances are. “We ended up talking about old metal and hardcore bands, work, how tough life has been for both of us, different accidents that have happened in our lives. He was just a really cool dude,” he continued. Following the unexpected interaction, Briggs shared a video on TikTok (@realandrewbriggs) outlining what happened. The clip went viral with over 1.7 million views and more than 338,300 likes on TikTok at the time of writing. Internet users have thanked Briggs for sharing this story and praised the men for handling their collision so well. While Briggs hasn’t been in contact with the other driver since then, he hopes to “repay his kindness” in some way. “I’m a content creator and I make a lot of videos, but so much of what we see is negative. I was really happy to get to share something so human and hopeful,” Briggs told Newsweek. “Shoutout to my mom for always being a cool head in hard situations through my childhood and setting that framework for me to follow later in life,” he said. Since the video went viral on TikTok, it has already generated over 4,400 comments at the time of writing. One comment reads: “This is true masculinity. Calm, accountability, kindness.” Another TikTok user wrote: “I love when humanity has humanity.” Another person added: “I hope you become besties.” Do you have any viral videos or pictures that you want to share?
