TAG Group and Ramu Endowments conferred the ‘Man For All Seasons’ award on A.S. Diwakar, a sportsman-turned-entrepreneur and founder of Compuprint, an offset and digital printing house, here on Sunday.
N. Murali, President of The Music Academy and Director, The Hindu Group of Publications, who presented the award, said he is an adaptive person, unflustered and unfazed by any challenge, however tough it is.
He noted that Mr. Diwakar is an understated high achiever. “For someone who started a DTP unit way back in the 1980s, he had the foresight to pitch on futuristic technology even then. He was an avid table tennis player. But more than a player, he made his mark as a table tennis umpire and referee,” he added.
R.T. Chari, managing director, TAG Group and managing trustee, Ramu Endowments, said Mr. Diwakar is a creative photographer, and a specialist in desktop printing and publishing.
Historian and Secretary, The Music Academy, V. Sriram said Mr Diwakar is a self-made man and first-generation entrepreneur. “No matter what happens, he is always smiling and willing to take on fresh challenges, these are two of his greatest traits,” he added.
