Man demands money from business for wasting his time: Mayfield Police Blotter

MAYFIELD, Ohio Harassing communication: Beta Drive A business in the 700-block reported Oct. 21 that they were receiving concerning messages from a man who had applied for a job. They said that the man applied online and then showed up for an interview on the wrong day at the wrong time. The interview was rescheduled but the man came three hours late and they did not have time to meet with him. Since that time, they said that he was repeatedly emailing them, demanding $15 in gas money for wasting his time. Officers are attempting to contact the Madison man, 59, to advise him to cease all communication with the business. Fraud: Eastgate Drive A man and woman reported Oct. 23 that multiple credit card accounts had been fraudulently opened in their names. They learned that the cards had been used at gas stations and that charges on them had reached a few hundred dollars. Their bank was made aware and notified them that they would put a freeze on their accounts. General assistance: South Woodlane Drive A woman said Oct. 25 that her ex-boyfriend violated a no contact order by mentioning her name on social media. It was determined that it was not a violation of the order, but officers contacted the Cuyahoga Falls man and advised him not to use her name on social media. He said he would comply. Family trouble: SOM Center Road Officers were called to the University Hospitals Health Center Oct. 27 for a report of a disturbance between a man and woman. The couple was present with their newborn child and the staff was concerned for the welfare of the child and woman. Officers confirmed that there was only an argument, however they found that the Eastlake man, 29, and Willoughby woman, 27, both had active warrants from other agencies for failure to appear in court. The woman was advised and released but the man was taken into custody by Lyndhurst police. Fraud: Derby Road A resident said Oct. 27 that a fraudulent credit card account had been opened in her name, but the bank had stopped any fraudulent transactions from occurring.
