Man Criminally Charged a Day Before His Birthday

A Belize City man has been formally arrested and charged for multiple counts of obtaining property by deception.

Acting on that warrant, police arrested 22-year-old Cuba Javier Perrote, a Belizean real estate agent of Belize City.

Perrote, who turns 23 on Sunday, was charged with five counts of Obtaining Property by Deception.

Earlier this week, it was reported that Perrote attempted to use a fake online payment to get a $300 pair of Polo leather tennis. He was detained at Pound Yard Bridge after the store owner realized the transfer was bogus and tracked the taxi carrying the shoes.

We also know that another business establishment had a similar complaint.
