The alleged assault took place on North Strand Road, Dublin 1 on Friday while McDonald was out encouraging people to vote for Catherine Connolly in the presidential election. Advertisement The suspect is expected to appear in court in Dublin tomorrow morning. A video circulated online showing canvassers standing between McDonald and a man who was verbally abusing her and other members of the group. He also threatened to hit McDonald and others.
