Spotting a bargain in a charity shop can be thrilling, whether it’s a notebook with a chilling message inside or a designer outfit worth thousands in value. However, sometimes the excitement of a purchase can quickly fade once you get it home and take a closer look. This was the case for a man named Chris, who shares his part-time selling exploits on eBay and Vinted via TikTok . He recently bought a jacket from a charity shop, excited to bring his find home. But upon returning, he noticed something unusual in the pockets. In a video that garnered dozens of likes and comments, the bargain hunter shared: “So I’ve just gone to take photos of this jacket that I bought from a charity shop the other day and I can feel something in the pockets. “If you’ve watched one of my previous videos, I did actually find some money on a coat I picked up from a charity shop.” “What are we going to find in the pockets today? Let’s have a look,” he added. In the video, Chris starts by exploring the first pocket, quickly informing viewers: “Lovely, dirty tissue. Great.” Moments later, he decides to check the other pocket. “Another dirty tissue, oh look and we’ve got a sweet,” he joked. Clearly repulsed by his discovery, Chris added: “Eurgh Jeez, don’t know what’s on that?” Unfortunately, the thrifty shopper wasn’t thrilled with his pocket finds, but felt compelled to share the experience with his nearly 5,000 followers. He previously discovered hidden treasures in pockets, but sadly, this wasn’t one of those times. One commenter remarked: “I always find dirty tissues,” while another added: “You’d think the staff would check pockets before putting them out for sale.” A third person commented: “Proves they are not washed before selling.” Other commenters confessed to finding money in the past, with one individual even discovering £100 in the pocket of his new Nike bag. In the past, Chris purchased a £10 box of rare coins from a charity shop, with one turning out to be worth a small fortune. In a TikTok video, he confessed his lack of knowledge about coins and asked his followers for their opinions. To his dismay, he received numerous comments informing him that they’re essentially worthless and would only fetch him £25 if he’s fortunate.
