RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Ohio Warrant served: Marrus Circle A man called for police to assist him in getting into his locked vehicle at a home he was visiting Oct. 26. Officers were unable to assist him as it was learned that he was not the registered owner of the vehicle. he was also found to have a warrant with Highland Heights police for failure to appear on a traffic charge. The Shaker Heights man, 24, was arrested and turned over to officers from the neighboring agency. Theft from auto: Richmond Park Drive East A resident reported Oct. 21 that somebody had broken into his HVAC work truck in the parking lot of the 444 Park apartments and stole several items. Among the items reported stolen were tools, air-conditioning parts and the vehicle’s stereo. A window had been smashed to enter the truck. The incident is under investigation. Animals: Royal Oak Boulevard Two pitbulls were seen running at large Oct. 23 and located by officers in a resident’s front yard on Claymore Boulevard. The officers were able to secure the dogs in their cruisers and took them to the Euclid Animal Shelter. The owner of the dogs came to the station about an hour later to report them missing. He was advised of the incident and where he could retrieve them and was given a warning for dogs at large. Suspicion: Highland Road A boy, 15, was reported to be walking in the roadway and obstructing traffic to get struck by a car around 3 p.m. Oct. 24. A second caller said that the boy spit on a driver of a stopped vehicle. Responding officers found the boy walking in the middle of Trebisky Road and yelling at motorists. He immediately fought with them but was eventually detained and evaluated by paramedics before being taken to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation. Theft: Wilson Mills Road Meijer loss prevention reported Oct. 20 that a woman had stolen items from the store and threw them into a shopping cart in the parking lot before leaving as a passenger in vehicle being driven by a man. Responding officers stopped the vehicle in Highland Heights. The Cleveland woman, 38, was found lying on the back seat and arrested for the $617 theft of groceries and clothing. Disturbance: Brush Road An assault was reported in the 100-block Oct. 23 in which a man said that his “on and off girlfriend” caused extensive damage to his home doors by kicking them. He said the incident began while they were in bed and she asked why he had seen another woman when their relationship was in the “off again” status. He said she then pushed him and grabbed his neck and they tussled for three hours in which time he said that furniture was knocked out of place. He said that she eventually left but returned and began kicking the doors when she realized he had locked her out of the home. Officers observed scratches on the man’s face and body and determined that the Euclid woman, 22, would be charged with burglary, assault and criminal damaging. Harassment: Ruth Ellen Drive Officers responded to the H building of the Dorchester apartments Oct. 25 for a report of some boys banging on doors while playing with a football in the hallway. They learned where the boys were from and told the resident of that apartment to have them play football outdoors. Later, a resident said that she was being harassed by the mother of the boys. Officers confirmed that the mother had placed a note on the resident’s door ridiculing her for calling the police. She only asked that incident be documented. Assault: Monticello Boulevard A crying woman came to the station Oct. 24 to report being assaulted by her ex-boyfriend in her driveway nearly a month ago. She said that a neighbor had witnessed the assault and sent her surveillance video of it. Officers watched the video, but it only showed her speaking with a man. They spoke to the neighbor, who also said that she only heard the couple arguing. The suspect was contacted but refused to speak about the incident. With no evidence of an assault, the incident was documented with no charges filed. Theft: Wilson Mills Road A Cleveland woman, 25, and Euclid woman, 23, were cited for theft at Meijer Oct. 24 and issued trespass warnings. The two had had used the self-checkout registers but failed to scan $154 worth of groceries. Suspicion: Highland Road A man was seen running naked in the roadway near Georgetown Road around 5 a.m. Oct. 20. Officers located him and had him evaluated by paramedics before he was taken to a hospital due to his prolonged exposure to cold temperatures.
