Murder Investigation Man arrested on suspicion of murder of Ryan Gibbons in Kildare town last month Ryan Gibbons, 20s, was fatally assaulted in Kildare town on 26 October. 12.27pm, 3 Nov 2025 Share options A MAN AGED in his late teens has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the fatal assault of Ryan Gibbons, 20s, in Kildare town on 26 October. This morning Gardaí arrested a man in connection with the investigation on suspicion of murder. The man (aged in his late teens) is being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda Station in the Kildare area. Advertisement Investigations are ongoing. Ryan, who was in his 20s, was found unresponsive on McGee Terrace at around 3:15am 26 October. He was taken to Naas General Hospital with serious head injuries but later passed away. Following a post-mortem examination – the results of which will not be released for operational reasons – gardaí have now commenced a murder investigation. It’s understood Gibbons had been out socialising with a group of men earlier that night, and that an incident took place close to the local garda station at McGee Terrace.
