A man was arrested in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr after a video surfaced showing him spitting on rotis while preparing them at a wedding function. The accused, identified as Danish, was seen in the viral video repeatedly spitting on the rotis as he cooked them. Police said they traced and arrested Danish on Sunday after the video drew widespread outrage on social media. “The accused has been arrested for spitting on rotis at a wedding ceremony,” confirmed Senior Police Officer Tejveer Singh in a video statement. He added that a formal investigation into the incident is underway. The incident reportedly took place under the jurisdiction of the Pahasu police station. Authorities said the video’s authenticity was verified before action was taken, and Danish has been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. This is not the first such case in the state. In August, a man in Baghpat was arrested after a video showed him spitting on rotis at a roadside eatery. Similarly, in May, another man in Meerut was detained for the same act while preparing food. Police officials said such acts not only violate hygiene standards but also pose serious health risks, adding that strict action will be taken to deter similar incidents in the future.
