There were two cars involved in the crash, which happened on the R725, Rath East, Shillelagh, at around 6.50pm yesterday evening, 24 October. One of the drivers, a man in his 60s, sadly passed away at the scene. His body has since been taken to the Naas Mortuary for a post mortem. Advertisement A woman, who was a passenger in the car, was taken to St Luke’s General Hospital Carlow Kilkenny, where she is being treated for injuries believed to be non-life-threatening. The driver of the other car, a man, was seriously injured. Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them. Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling on the R725 near Rath East between 6pm and 6.50pm on Friday are asked to make this footage available to gardaí. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Baltinglass Garda Station on (059) 6482610, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
