As part of Oyo State Government resolve to fully open the tourism potential to the December inbound visitors, tourists as well as diaspora returnees to Migeria and Oyo state in particular, the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde has announced a maiden edition of #VibratingDecember. This was contained in a release signed by the Special Adviser on Media to the Oyo State Governor, Mr Sulaimon Olanrewaju, which follows the presentation of a memo to the Oyo State Executive Council by the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr Wasiu Olatubosun. The carnival is intended to put the state in celebratory mood and create business opportunities for residents of the state throughout the yuletide period. The Commissioner, who noted that the carnival will not be restricted to Ibadan, the state capital, alone as it will be held concurrently in various parts of the state, added that adequate arrangement had been made to secure lives and properties before, during and after the carnival. Otherwise known as Faaji December, the experiential period; a month-long celebration is set to bring the community together and make this holiday season one to remember. This epic event promises to be the ultimate holiday experience, with a wide range of activities and entertainment options that cater to all tastes and preferences. The carnival, scheduled to kick off in the first week of December, will feature legendary concerts, cultural festivals, and entertainment programs that showcase the rich heritage and vibrant culture of Oyo. Some of the highlights include the Legendary December with a beer village at designated centers, Fantasyland variety program, Ogbomoso Cradle Carnival, Oyo Durbar, Amaland Festival, Atewolara Festival, Hotel Vibes, Ojude UI, and Artistes’ hangout and concerts. Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde is expected to officially launch the carnival, and with the safety of residents and visitors a top priority, adequate arrangements have been made to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for all. The event is organised in collaboration with local communities, towns, and several corporate sponsors, making it a truly community-driven celebration.
