Major streaming service to raise prices in October

Disney+ announced on Tuesday that it will raise its subscription prices next month.
Starting Oct. 21, customers can expect to pay an additional $2 to $3 per month, depending on the plan type. The updated price list shows that Disney+ (with ads) will increase from $9.99 to $11.99 per month. Meanwhile, Disney+ Premium (no ads) will increase from $15.99 a month to $18.99 a month.
The Disney+ bundle plans are also experiencing a monthly price hike. The Disney+ and Hulu bundle with ads will see a $2 price increase, and all Disney+, Hulu, & ESPN bundle plans will increase $3. Additionally, the Disney+, Hulu, and HBO Max Bundle plans will increase $3.
The Disney+ bundles that include NFL+ Premium will remain the same price.
Launched in 2019, Disney+ gives customers access to hit TV shows and movies from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic. Subscribers can enjoy popular titles like “The Avengers,” “Toy Story,” “Finding Nemo,” and all Star Wars films, along with classic Disney content such as “The Mickey Mouse Club.”
This price increase was announced shortly after Disney subsidiary ABC suspended “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” from the air on Sept. 17, following the host’s controversial remarks about the alleged killer of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. In response to ABC’s decision, many customers canceled their Disney+ subscriptions. Kimmel returned to the air on Sept. 23.
