Mango has expanded its Scottish presence with a new Aberdeen store. The fashion brand opened its first ever branch in the Granite City on Friday, November 7. Located in the Union Square Shopping Centre next to River Island and Zara, the 4,844 sq. ft. shop features Mango's latest womenswear collection, including clothing, footwear, and accessories. It joins a host of other major retailers that shoppers can find in the city's major shopping centre that includes the likes of Seasalt Cornwall, BOSS, Rituals, New Look, Skechers and Boux Avenue. While it marks the first Mango store in Aberdeen, the Spanish fast-fashion retailer does operate a total of nine stores across Scotland, with other store locations including several in Edinburgh and Glasgow. The Aberdeen store follows the brand's New Med concept that has been inspired by its Mediterranean heritage, incorporating natural textures, warm tones, and sustainable materials, creating a bright and welcoming shopping environment. As reported by the Retail Gazette , the opening reflects Mango’s ongoing strategy to grow its footprint in key UK cities while delivering a consistent and immersive brand experience. Founded in 1984 in Barcelona by brothers Isak and Nahman Andic, Mango is now said to employ a total of 14,000 employees across more than 2,700 stores across over 110 countries. The fast-fashion brand was also known for its collaborations and campaigns with major celebrities including iconic supermodel Kate Moss, Victoria Beckham and Miranda Kerr. Fiona Cullen, Mango’s international regional director for the UK & Ireland, said: "Our new Mango Woman store in Aberdeen is a confident step forward for Mango, building on the strong progress we have made over the last year to broaden the appeal of Mango to even more customers across the UK. "Aberdeen is the perfect new home to introduce our womenswear collection to more Scottish customers, in a store format that truly represents the Mediterranean soul of our brand.” Mango isn't the only retailer to pop up in Aberdeen's Union Square this year, as famed lingerie brand Victoria's Secret also opened its first store in the city in the major shopping centre earlier this year. Opened in June 2025, shoppers can find the store next in the former Superdry unit next to Boots, marking its fourth in Scotland overall, with other branches located in The Fort and Buchanan Galleries in Glasgow, alongside one in Edinburgh's St James Quarter. Meanwhile, Aberdeen's Superdry has recently relocated to the Bon Accord Shopping Centre, with the British fashion brand opening its newly revamped store in the former Aberdeen Science Centre Unit on Friday, November 7. The 6,00 sq. ft. unit houses the latest men’s and women’s collections, as well as a curated vintage offering that blends new-season products with heritage-inspired pieces. It also boasts a brand new design-led concept that is focused on product storytelling and community relevance, marking the second Superdry store to do so following the opening of its Nottingham branch in September. Bringing back the Store Manager of the previous Union Square branch, shoppers will also find convenient shopping services, such as Click & Collect and easy in-store returns.
