Drivers were warned of ‘major disruption’ and told to plan ahead after a crash around rush hour today. Emergency services were on scene in Darlaston Road, Wednesbury after a collision this afternoon, Tuesday, September 9. The two-car crash took place on the A462 at the junction of Bilston Road and Wednesbury Road at around 4.15pm. West Midlands Roads had earlier said: “A462 Darlaston Rd (at the Junction w/ Bilston Rd) -Wednesbury. Road traffic collision “Delays impacting surround roads. Plan Ahead: Allow extra time for your journey and consider alternative routes where possible.” A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to reports of a two-car collision at the junction of Bilston Road and Darlaston Road at 4.18pm, two ambulances and a HART Paramedic were sent to the scene. “We are currently assessing two patients.” A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said two people were treated at the scene by paramedics. A short statement read: “We were called to Darlaston Road at around 4.15pm to a two car collision. “Two people were treated at the scene by paramedics.”
