As former Nebraska volleyball player Lexi Rodriguez started her new endeavour in sport, Maisie Boesiger, Ally Batenhorst, and others expressed their love for the libero. Rodriguez joined hands with SheSports, a platform that connects female collegiate athletes with young fans to motivate and inspire them to achieve dreams. Rodriguez took to social media to announce her partnership with SheSports. Sullivan Award Former Nebraska Volleyball player Lexi Rodriguez earned the AAU James E. Sullivan Award this year in April. The award is presented to the best player in the US at the collegiate or Olympic level. In her acceptance speech, she expressed her gratitude towards the Nebraska staff and fans. "I could say thank you to so many people" Rodriguez said. "I want to be here if it wasn't for the University of Nebraska all my coaching staff, and my teammates who are here with me to and just all their belief that they had in me through my college career, my volleyball career is a huge reason as to why I was able to do what I was able to do and I'm so grateful for them."She added:"I'm grateful, and I want to say thank you to the whole state of Nebraska because if you've ever heard of Nebraska Volleyball, you know that the fans are pretty crazy, but they're amazing, and their support was also just so incredible to have."Rodriguez joined the Nebraska Volleyball team in 2021 as a freshman. She recorded the program's all-time career leader in digs with 1,897. After ending her pro volleyball season with LOVB Omaha in April this year, she also represented the American team at VNL.
