Maine seems to be becoming a prime breeding ground for crickets.
The silence — from both of our senators — has become deafening: on questions of free speech; freedom of the press and broadcasting; the inappropriate and increasingly illegal mingling of politics and religion; public corruption; mindless changes to our climate and other important policy areas; gerrymandering and free elections; judicial and law enforcement malfeasance, etc.
I know it may seem difficult and tiresome to stand up every day and keep crying “Foul!” But if I were a senator, elected by the people of my state, I would assume that that was my job.
