The Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to continuing viable projects initiated by previous administrations, provided they deliver value for money and serve the nation’s development agenda. He made the remarks at the commissioning of a 160-bed dormitory and a 24-unit girls’ sanitary facility at Bimbilla Senior High School in the Northern Region on Sunday, November 2, 2025. The project, which began under the previous government in collaboration with the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), was completed and inaugurated under President John Dramani Mahama’s administration. The event was marked by excitement among students and staff, who described the new facilities as a major relief to the school’s long-standing accommodation challenges. Mr. Iddrisu commended the previous administration for initiating the project, noting that continuity in governance was essential to national progress. “I will be the first to acknowledge the initiatives of the previous government and to assure you that President John Dramani Mahama, under his resetting agenda, will continue with worthy, viable initiatives of the previous government,” he said. “If it is adding to Ghana’s developmental needs, especially in building manpower, President Mahama will continue it.” The minister, however, emphasized that projects found to lack value for money would be subject to review.
