Mahachi Delivers Presidential Invitation For Dangote to Come And Invest In Zimbabwe

By A Correspondent| Zimbabwean business adviser and facilitator Josephine Mahachi has played a central role in orchestrating the upcoming official visit of Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote, a move that has secured direct approval from President Emmerson Mnangagwa and could unlock a landmark investment for the nation. The high-level mission, which paves the way for a potential US$1 billion investment, is a result of Mahachi’s sustained efforts to bridge international investment with national development goals. Mahachi confirmed the development, stating that she is working directly with the President’s office through his investment advisor, Dr. Paul Tungwarara. She revealed that a formal mandate has been signed for the visit, for which she has partnered with the financial institution Bard Santner Markets Incorporated to ensure a seamless process. She noted her prior role in facilitating Mr. Dangote’s 2015 visit and expressed her belief that the current initiative is unfolding at the right time. Presidential Investment Advisor, Dr. Paul Tungwarara, echoed the confirmation, expressing strong optimism for the visit. He stated that the richest man in Africa is coming at the invitation of President Mnangagwa, with whom he has been in constant communication. Tungwarara emphasized the government’s keenness to ensure the visit results in a significant investment for Zimbabwe, avoiding the outcome of the previous visit where no deal was finalized. The proposed investment, which aligns with President Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030, would see the Dangote Group establish a fully integrated cement factory, a limestone quarry, a coal mine, and a power station. With Mahachi’s facilitation and direct presidential backing, expectations are high that this visit will finally secure the transformative investment that has been in the works for nearly a decade.
