The Los Angeles Dodgers are champions of the baseball world once again, as they beat the Toronto Blue Jays in seven games in the 2025 World Series. In the end, the Dodgers came out victorious, but it was far from an easy feat. The Dodgers lost Games 4 and 5 at home, and had to travel to Toronto for Games 6 and 7, needing to win both of them. The crowd at the Rogers Centre was electric, and the Dodgers had to dig deep to secure the two wins. Dodgers part-owner Magic Johnson, who was in attendance in a suite, praised the Blue Jays crowd for the incredible atmosphere. “Oh, shoot,” Johnson thought to himself during Game 7. “This place is probably the loudest stadium I’ve ever been in.” Johnson has been in many stadiums throughout his life. He played college basketball at Michigan State, where he won the 1979 National Championship. He was then drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers, and played 13 years in the NBA, winning five NBA championships. He was also the president of basketball operations for the Lakers. Suffice to say, Johnson has been to thousands of sporting events across all sports in his lifetime, so the praise he gave Blue Jays fans shouldn't go unnoticed. While the Blue Jays did everything they could to take down the Dodgers, they came up just short, and now shift their focus to the offseason. The Blue Jays already had six players enter free agency, and will have some big decisions to make — namely with All-Star shortstop Bo Bichette — as they look to retool and get back to the World Series next season.
