A Married at First Sight UK feud was ignited on Wednesday (October 1) as an angry groom fumed: “It needs to stop”.
The highly anticipated tenth series of the hit E4 show has officially returned to screens, and it’s already been filled with lots of drama.
Last night (September 30), the couples sat down with experts Mel Schilling, Paul C Brunson and Charlene Douglas for the first commitment ceremony, with no topic off limits.
The tension continued tonight, as one of the strongest couples, Nelly and Steven, had their first argument after the group went out for drinks.
“It was really good at the commitment ceremony, but last night Steven and I had our first bit of conflict. I think the last couple of days, I’ve just felt a bit on edge. He’s not been the same as he was on the honeymoon,” Nelly admitted.
“I was being needy, but he does feel distant. Then last night, we all went out for some drinks. The other people started picking up on it a little bit.
“Some people were saying to Steven, ‘Tell her how good she looks,’ and he didn’t like that. I’m really sorry that it’s upset him but these are my friends, I need to lean on them.”
Steven then explained: “Last night made me feel a bit uneasy. Keye walked in with Nelly, asking me to compliment her. Absolutely no idea why Keye’s got involved.
“I believe Nelly’s said something to the group about our relationship. It needs to stop because it will wind me up more and more if people get involved.”
Steven then arrived at Keye and Davide’s apartment, with the pair clashing over Nelly.
Keye was “confused” as to what he had done wrong, with a frustrated Steven saying: “I don’t want anyone to get involved. Just leave me alone.”
Keye replied: “Nelly was saying that she was feeling down and didn’t feel very cute about herself so I bigged her up to make her feel like she was cute.
“I’m not having it sold that I was trying to come between your relationship, I’m not. I couldn’t give a flying f*** if I’m completely honest, I’m here for my relationship… I’m a cheerleader, I’m a positive person, that’s what I do.”
He continued: “I think everyone should put effort in their relationship, Steven included. If there are aspects of his relationship that he doesn’t want to discuss, that’s a conversation between him and his wife, not me.”
Steven then fumed: “Just stay out of my business,” before quickly leaving the apartment.
“Feeling pretty p***** off. So, I ended up just walking away. My relationship is my relationship. I don’t like people getting involved in business they shouldn’t get involved in,” he told the cameras.
After watching the heated interaction, several MAFS viewers quickly took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their frustration.
“Steven slowly showing the side of himself that Nelly wouldn’t like,” one person wrote, with another adding: “That argument between Keye and Steven literally made no sense.”
