Married at First Sight UK bride Leigh Harris has set the record straight as she fumed, “I’m being done dirty”.
The tenth series of the popular reality programme launched on E4 at the weekend, with a new line-up of brides and grooms preparing to marry a total stranger.
Clinical coder Leigh, 30, was amongst the hopeful singletons who put their faith in experts Mel Schilling, Paul C Brunson, and Charlene Douglas.
The bride-to-be from Romford was seeking a masculine presenting woman, who also shared her drive, dedication and love of spirituality.
Leigh was matched with construction consultant Leah Tyrer, 35, with the duo seeming like an ideal pairing on paper, reports Essex Live.
Nevertheless, Leigh wasn’t thrilled when she reached the altar as she believed that Leah lacked sufficient masculine characteristics.
Following a wedding night spent separately, the newlyweds travelled to snowy Switzerland for their honeymoon.
Leah attempted to connect with her new bride by taking her up a mountain for a ziplining adventure together. But Leigh’s fear of heights led her to withdraw even more from her new partner.
“No, this is not fun for me. I might have a panic attack, and I am not joking… I’m actually anxious I don’t like heights sorry, I can’t breathe,” Leigh raged.
In a bid to repair their relationship, Leah subsequently brought Leigh to a spa, where she intended to give her a massage.
Yet Leigh swiftly grew irritated and continuously instructed her wife to “relax” and “take it calm” throughout the massage.
“I am trying with the massage, but she was just being a bit of a cow. I can’t do anything right,” a frustrated Leah said.
Leigh took to her Instagram Story after watching the tense scenes on Wednesday (September 24), where she expressed her frustration over the show’s edit.
“I’ve got to just come on here and try and back myself here because that edit of that honeymoon was f****** awful. Sorry, I’m still in a little bit of shock myself,” she said in the clip.
“I’m already getting an abundance of hate. It is what it is, but that massage scene did not go like that. We were in that massage room for about an hour. We both massaged each other, and we were having a laugh.
“Each of those comments they’ve snipped and shown that I’ve made to Leah, we were laughing in between, we were having a joke. Believe it or not, we were getting on a lot better than it looks on screen right now.”
Leigh concluded: “I just feel like I’m being done absolutely dirty here, I’m not going to lie. Yes, I am fiery. Yes, I am blunt. I’ve got a dry sense of humour, that’s who I am, but that was not as bad as it looks.”
The star has since posted numerous snaps from her honeymoon across social media, featuring beaming pictures of herself and Leah as they struck poses in the snow. She also encouraged viewers to “be kind”.
