MAFS UK's Steven breaks silence on 'petty' argument that wasn't aired

A star of Married At First Sight UK has hit out at the show's editing following a tense commitment ceremony. Monday's episode (October 27) saw the couples face the experts once again in this week's commitment ceremony . As they sat before the relationship experts, some hard truths were laid bare following what was a fiery dinner party at the couples' retreat. Previous scenes saw Julia-Ruth under fire for her behaviour towards her partner Divarni and her admission of attraction to Steven , Nelly's husband. Fiery rows broke out at the dinner party, with Bailey branded Julia-Ruth as "evil", with her admitting to producers: "I don't really care anymore, the gloves are off." During Monday's commitment ceremony, Steven revealed to the experts that he and Nelly had been embroiled in several arguments, stating: "I felt one of them was extremely petty." He recalled the dinner party drama with Julia-Ruth and Nelly, saying: "At the dinner party Nelly's whole argument with Julia-Ruth and I was sitting there thinking 'Oh my god my name's come up again, this is going on longer than what it should, we're getting nowhere fast', I was already frustrated at that," reports OK! As Nelly confessed she would've appreciated "more support", relationship guru Charlene echoed the sentiment, wishing more support had been shown for Nelly. Steven responded: "But I wanted them two to talk and hash things out and I thought in that moment it didn't need other people. I don't want to jump into something then it feels like I'm the aggressor." Steven has since taken to Instagram stories to criticise the show's editing. He posted: "Wow! If you're going to edit the show, at least make it should like it flows... how robotic am I sounding here. "The petty argument I was on about wasn't the Julia-Ruth and Nelly fall-out, it was down to a row over Becs wanting to pluck my eyebrows to which I said yes to. "Nelly wasn't happy because she had asked me back in the honeymoon (when I said no) and she felt rejected. That's what felt petty to me, arguing over eyebrows!" "Honestly, if they wanna play this game... then I'll start playing this game back.. "Oh and I didn't expect the 'stay for now in week two as well by the way. So, where was my vox from there?" During the commitment ceremony, Steven confessed his desire for an "emotional" relationship first, stating: "I do need to show a lot more, the communication needs to happen a lot more for sure." When decision time rolled around, Nelly wrote stay as Steven also penned stay (for now), which seemed to take Nelly aback. Steven added: "This is the last week where things need to click for both of us." He suggested he would have to "tap out of the experiment" if he couldn't "provide for Nelly what she needs from me and vice versa". Addressing the cameras, he expressed: "My feelings for Nelly right now are diminishing, it feels like anything I do isn't good enough. "What's bothering me the most is I'm the only one who's ever got homework in this marriage. There's two people involved in this and I think something needs to change drastically because pretty soon I'll be dropping my wedding ring off." MAFS UK continues tonight at 9pm on E4.
