MAFS star admits she’s ‘so scared’ ahead of surgery to remove huge 17cm cyst from ovary and reveals tragic consequences

A MARRIED At First Sight fan-favourite has admitted she’s “so scared” ahead of upcoming surgery to remove a 17cm cyst from her ovary.

The E4 personality, whose marriage to Jordan Emmett-Connolly sadly did not continue outside of the matchmaking series, bravely revealed her secret health battle on Instagram.

Chanita Stephenson, 32, described the growth as a “17cm plot twist on my life.”

The Derby-born lass, who recently sadly lost her mum to cancer, left fans worried earlier in the month as she revealed she’d had some concerning medical news.

Now the MAFS alum has documented her diagnosis in detail, confirming that although she was referred on a cancer pathway, she thankfully does not have the disease.

Chanita told how she “finally” went to the doctors about her persistent bloating and said: “I don’t have cancer but what I do have is a 17cm, yes 17cm cyst that is on my ovary.

“So I have called him Terry, terry is a dermoid cyst that has taken over my ovary so I now have to have open surgery to take Terry out.

“And he’s probably going to take the ovary with him.”

Speaking in the video clip filmed in her car, she added: “The reason I’m doing this video is not to scare anyone or be woe is me, it’s just about actually if you’ve had an issue for a long time that you keep getting pushed off, just go and get it checked out.

“You just never know. I genuinely just thought it was my eating habits and intolerances that were causing me to look bloated, when actually it’s this huge cyst.”

She wrapped her video by asking her followers for any surgery tips.

In her caption, she then wrote: “Surgery is coming … and honestly I’m so scared.”

Her followers were quick to react to her news and one wrote: “Sending love and healing. Be gentle on yourself thinking of you.”

A second posted: “I’m so glad it’s benign, but that must have been so frightening for you. Thank you for raising awareness, you are one awesome woman!”

A third then put: “Hope surgery goes as well as it can.”
