Operate electric buses, cars in temple

The initiative by the HR&CE Department at Palani Dhandayuthapani Temple, which has recently launched a fleet of electric buses and battery cars to deboard devotees at the rope car and winch car station to reach the top of the hill to offer prayers to Lord Bala Dhandayuthapani and help them travel around the girivalam pathways, is really a welcome step.

Before offering prayers, devotees usually make darshan at Thiru Avinankudi Murugan Temple every day. After doing so, devotees, including senior citizens, physically challenged, and children have to walk up to the rope car and winch stations, ‘yanaipathai’ way and rocky steps to climb up the hill for offering prayers.

I request the HR&CE authorities to operate electric buses and battery cars between the hill and Thiru Avinankudi Murugan temple as early as possible. In addition, it will be more convenient for devotees to operate electric buses and battery cars free of cost from Palani bus terminus and Palani railway station to those temples for hassle-free pilgrimage of devotees.

Thirunagar.
