Lynx make it to WNBA playoffs

Basketball fans have reason to celebrate this week. WCCO TV reports the Lynx have made it to the WNBA playoffs after their win against California’s Valkyries. “The Valkyries had one final chance with four seconds remaining following a shot-clock violation, and Cecilia Zandalasini couldn’t convert a jumper.”

Sahan Journal has compiled a list of five things to know about Hamoudi Sabri, “who is tussling with Minneapolis over a homeless camp. … The Palestinian American developer says he won’t back down from his fight with the city until local and state officials come up with a long-term solution for homelessness.”

The Army Corps of Engineers is building a new island to protect an embankment near Hastings. KARE 11 writes the island would block the force from waves and ice movement before they cause damage to the embankment, which is around 100 years old.

Rochester is leading the nation in physician pay, according to a new report. MPR News explains physicians in the greater Minnesota city “are paid more than doctors in any other metropolitan area in the U.S. … And doctors in Minneapolis earn the eighth highest salaries.” The findings come from an analysis from Doximity, a heath care professionals’ network.
