Luxury department store returns but digital-only

Rackhams, a luxury department store originally founded in Birmingham in 1881, has returned to the UK after a 25-year absence.

The brand, once owned by Harrods and then House of Fraser, has relaunched exclusively as an online digital marketplace.

CEO Mark Jordan stated that Rackhams’ “marketplace-first approach” is central to its business, prioritising customer and partner experience.

The new online store offers a diverse range of products, including designer brands, boutique labels, and everyday essentials across various categories.

Since its soft launch in 2023, Rackhams has already welcomed over 600 partners and shipped tens of thousands of orders, with further growth expected.
