A frightening hospital dash! (Picture: ITV) Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon has spoken candidly about the terrifying weekend she endured after rushing her 10-month-old daughter, Nancy, to A&E. The actress revealed that her baby girl became severely unwell, battling multiple infections and leaving the young mum feeling ‘completely drained’ and ‘unable to cope.’ The 29-year-old, who is best known for her long-running role as Bethany Platt on the ITV soap, shared the ordeal with her followers on Instagram, offering a raw glimpse into the challenges of motherhood and the reality behind the glamorous world of television fame. Lucy explained that over the weekend, Nancy’s condition deteriorated rapidly, prompting a hospital visit. The little one was diagnosed with a combination of throat, ear, and eye infections, along with a persistent stomach bug that caused severe vomiting. To make matters worse, Nancy’s two upper teeth were also coming through at the time, adding to her discomfort. Speaking from home in a heartfelt Instagram video, Lucy appeared visibly exhausted as she described the frightening experience. Dressed in pink pyjamas and a dressing gown, she told fans: ‘I didn’t want to come on and be really attention-seeking, but here I am. We have had a weekend. It’s been filled with sickness, A&E visits, and everything. I don’t even know who I am anymore. But poor Nancy is literally so sick.’ A testing time for the young family (Picture: Instagram) Pointing to her daughter’s swollen and inflamed eye, she continued: ‘Look at her eye, I just cannot. She’s been vomiting, she has a throat infection, an ear infection, and an eye infection. She’s got two top teeth coming through and a sickness bug. Can you cope? Life comes at you really fast.’ Her words struck a chord with fellow parents online, many of whom praised the actress for her honesty and vulnerability in showing the less glamorous side of parenting. Lucy shares baby Nancy with her partner, Ryan Ledson, a 28-year-old professional footballer. The couple welcomed their daughter in January 2025, just a year after the birth of their first child, Sonny, who arrived in January 2023. The pair began dating in late 2020 after meeting through a dating app, and made their romance public in June 2021, once lockdown restrictions had eased. Since then, they have been open about their family life, often sharing glimpses of their children on social media. Balancing motherhood and a soap career (Picture: Instagram) Lucy’s road to motherhood, however, has not been without heartbreak. Before welcoming Sonny, she suffered a miscarriage, an experience she has spoken about with courage and honesty, hoping to raise awareness and comfort others who have been through similar losses. Despite the challenges of caring for two young children, Lucy made her return to Coronation Street in July this year, seven months after giving birth to Nancy. Her comeback was announced with a smiling selfie from her dressing room captioned: ‘And just like that, she’s back.’ Fallon originally joined the soap in 2015 at just 19 years old, quickly becoming one of its breakout stars thanks to her portrayal of Bethany Platt, a role that earned her critical acclaim and several awards. She departed the show in 2020 to explore new opportunities, before reprising the character in 2023. In interviews, Lucy has admitted that juggling motherhood with the demands of filming hasn’t been easy. Her current schedule allows her to work no more than two consecutive days, giving her more time at home with her young family. When she discovered she was pregnant with her second child, Lucy confessed she was nervous about breaking the news to producers, fearing they might be frustrated by the timing. ‘I’d built it up in my head, thinking everyone was going to be so annoyed,’ she once shared, recalling that she became emotional when she finally told them the news. ‘Life comes at you really fast’ (Picture: Instagram) Now, as she reflects on her latest challenge, a sleepless, stressful weekend of hospitals, infections, and tears, Lucy says the experience has reminded her how quickly life can change. ‘It’s just been a reality check,’ she admitted. ‘Life comes at you really fast.’ Though the ordeal left her ‘completely drained,’ Lucy expressed relief that her daughter is now on the mend and thanked fans for their supportive messages. Her honesty about the ups and downs of motherhood continues to resonate with many of her followers, who praised her for showing that even celebrities face the same fears and exhaustion as any parent. While Nancy recovers and Lucy takes some much-needed rest, the actress seems to remain grateful for her family and determined to keep sharing both the beautiful and the difficult moments of motherhood.
