A couple tying the knot in Hobbiton, where Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit were filmed, received the surprise of their lives when an uninvited person gatecrashed their big day. On your wedding day, the last thing you'd expect is any unwelcome surprises or uninvited guests turning up unannounced. Yet one couple didn't seem bothered by either of these scenarios as their nuptials in Hobbiton, the New Zealand filming location for Lord of the Rings, became an unforgettable experience for everyone present after a mystery visitor made a dramatic entrance om the middle of the the ceremony. The official Hobbiton Tours account shared the incredible moment on their TikTok when a bride and groom were stunned by the arrival of one of the Lord of the Rings film stars during their ceremony. "POV: You're getting married in The Shire and an unexpected guest crashes your wedding," read the video's caption. The footage shows four men wearing jeans and dark jackets approaching a wedding taking place in front of the famous circular Hobbit dwellings in Hobbiton. One gentleman at the front is spotted embracing a photographer, before wedding attendees began gasping audibly as they recognised the mystery wedding guest. All the guests spun round, whilst the newlyweds stood stunned as none other than Frodo Baggins himself, Elijah Wood, had just gatecrashed their special day. The photographer then prompted Elijah to join the bride and groom for a memorable snapshot of the unexpected moment. Elijah exchanged handshakes with both the bride and groom before they all posed together under the floral arch, much to the delight of the cheering guests. Before departing, the wedding officiant made sure to capture his own photo with the actor, who then swiftly made his exit to allow the wedding ceremony to continue. The video rapidly gained traction online, racking up over 16.7 million views within the first day. Viewers were as taken aback by the surprise as the bride and groom, with some joking that he seemed to still be residing in Hobbiton. "'Unexpected' like it's not his front lawn," one user quipped, while another remarked: "You're making it harder to convince me he doesn't live there." A third individual added: "Unexpected? You're at his house." "That's like getting married in a church and Jesus walks in," another person commented. Some viewers debated whether it was actually Elijah Wood or Billy Boyd, who portrayed Pippin. However, the Hobbiton account soon posted the photos from the wedding, confirming that it was indeed Elijah who had gatecrashed the wedding.
