Four legendary singers — Chaka Khan, Gladys Knight, Patti LaBelle and Stephanie Mills — show up at First Horizon Coliseum in Greensboro on Friday for a night of R&B, soul and pop. 2 The Wilder Blue

3 Aggies on a roll
Over at N.C. A&T, Shawn Gibbs and his football Aggies are coming off a stunning victory over Hampton after losing a whole bunch of quarterbacks to injury. Now they face another HBCU rival in N.C. 4 For a lot of tongues to sing
Ardmore Baptist Church is wrapping up its Choral Festival/Composer Weekend at 4 p.m. Saturday with a concert called “O for a Thousand Tongues to Sing.” Actually, the choir is made up of 90 people, though more than 100 musicians are involved, including brass ensemble, percussion, handbells, piano and organ, all under the direction of renowned composer David Schwoebel. Enjoy original compositions and hymn arrangements from Schwoebel. The concert is free. It’s in the church sanctuary, 501 Miller St., Winston-Salem. ardmorebaptist.org.
5 This ‘Beast’ is beautiful
In the mood for some Disney magic? The Tanger Center’s Broadway series continues with “Beauty and the Beast,” Disney’s first North American tour of the hit musical in 25 years. It boasts an Oscar-winning score, including the classics “Be Our Guest” and, of course, “Beauty and the Beast.” The Greensboro run starts on Tuesday and goes through Sunday, Sept. 28. Tickets start around $50.
6 Back at the ‘Kat
Peter Holsapple returns to The Ramkat’s Gas Hill Drinking Room on Wednesday night, with special guest Walter Salas-Humara. Holsapple, who’s co-helmed the bands The dB’s and Continental Drifters and has worked with R.E.M. and Hootie, has a new album, “Faces of 68.” Salas-Humara got his start with The Silos, playing alt-country before anybody called it that.
