The Columbia Broadcasting System issued a casting call last week in search of an “Irish-looking” male actor to play a dead person for an upcoming scene in the crime-fighting thriller, Boston Blue, which stars Dorchester-bred Donnie Wahlberg. Those applying for the role must be willing to travel to Canada, where the majority of scenes for the show are filmed, according to the call. “Casting directors are seeking Irish-looking male actors for an upcoming scene in the television production Boston Blue," the casting call reads. “The role involves portraying a deceased character.” In a recent Globe interview, Wahlberg lamented that most scenes for the series have to be shot in Canada, a move he claimed was due to financial factors. “Sadly, I can’t control the economies of various places around the world. The idea was presented that it’s going to have to be done not in Boston. And I said, “Well, look, we have to do it in Boston,” Wahlberg said. After pushing to have at least some of the outdoor scenes shot in his hometown , Wahlberg said the team relented. In it, Wahlberg reprises his role as NYPD officer Danny Reagan as he takes a job with the Boston Police Department, according to the CBS website. Fans took notice over the summer as Wahlberg acted in scenes around Fenway and in the Common.
