Minister for IT Nara Lokesh on Thursday (November 06, 2025) met the family members of Malepati Subbanaidu, A.P. Agro Industries Development Corporation Limited chairman and senior leader Telugu Desam Party (TDP) from Kavali Constituency, who died due to a brain stroke at a private hospital in Vijayawada on October 19, 2025. The family was struck by two tragedies within two days – the passing of Mr. Subbanaidu and his brother’s son, former Irrigation Board Director, Malepati Bhanuchander, who died of heart attack a day before Mr. Subbanaidu. The local TDP leaders expressed deep shock over Subbanaidu’s death, however, few media reports claimed that no one from the party attended the funeral. Speaking to Subbanaidu’s family members at their residence in Dagadarthi, SPSR Nellore district, Mr. Lokesh said, “TDP will always stand by its party workers. We have set up a welfare fund of ₹135 crore for the cadre. Apart from providing all necessary support to the Malepati family, I will also personally help them.” He further said, “It is sad to lose strong workers like Subbanayadu and Bhanuchander. As the Mandal Party president, chairman of the State Agro Industries Corporation, and Constituency In-charge, Subbanaidu worked with commitment and discipline towards the party. I had been in good contact with him since I entered politics.” “I have walked with him during “Yuva Galam Padayatra” for five days. As soon as I came to know about Subbanaidu’s illness, I immediately went to the hospital to meer him. I instructed the doctors to provide good treatment. His unfortunate death is a huge loss for the party and the State has lost a strong leader,” he added. District in-charge Minister N. Md. Farooq, Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy, Kovur MLA Vemireddy Prashanthi Reddy, Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, Sarvepalli MLA Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, Udayagiri MLA Kakarla Suresh, TDP State president Palla Srinivas, A.P. Waqf Board chairman Abdul Aziz and other TDP leaders accompanied Mr. Lokesh.
