SUMTER, S.C. (WIS) - American defense and aerospace giant Lockheed Martin will partner with the South Carolina Manufacturers Alliance on Monday to highlight education and careers in science, technology, engineering and math. The two parties will host an event at the Liberty STEAM Charter School in Sumter. Organizers said the program will focus on F-16s made in South Carolina at Lockheed Martin’s Greenville facility. Among those expected at the event are Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Vice President and General Manager of the Integrated Fighter Group Mike Shoemaker, as well as South Carolina House Speaker Murrell Smith.
