Here are the details of the revised routes and bus times being introduced to several local bus services from Saturday, November 1. Service 62: Cannock – Hednesford – Burntwood – Lichfield Afternoon journeys on service 62 will be revised from Saturday 1st November 2025. Monday to Friday afternoon journeys are revised to meet school requirements. Service 74: Cannock – Brocton – Stafford Will be operating its normal route via Queensville between Weeping Cross and Stafford Town Centre following completion of roadworks. Service 826: Stafford – Baswich - Milford – Rugeley – Handsacre – Lichfield Will revert to its normal route via Queensville between Weeping Cross and Stafford Town Centre following completion of roadworks. Most journeys extend beyond Rugeley to Brereton, Handsacre & Lichfield daytime Monday to Saturday and co-ordinated with service 828 to provide two buses each hour between Stafford, Rugeley and Lichfield. Service 827: Stafford – Baswich – Milford – Brocton – Wildwood – Stafford Will be operating its normal route via Queensville between Weeping Cross and Stafford Town Centre following completion of roadworks. Additional journeys are also introduced. Service 828: Stafford – County Hospital – Great Haywood – Rugeley – Handsacre – Lichfield Service revised to operate up to every 60 minutes daytime Monday to Saturday and co-ordinated with service 826 to provide two buses each hour between Stafford, Rugeley and Lichfield. Sunday bus times are unchanged. Service 828A: Stafford – County Hospital – Great Haywood – Rugeley – Power Station Road Together service 828 and 828A provide two buses each hour daytime Monday to Saturday between Stafford and Rugeley. Many journeys on service 828A extend to Rugeley, Power Station Road providing new links to Aldi, Tesco, McDonald’s and KFC. Service 828A replaces service 826 in the Etching Hill area. Kallum Crawford, Local Operations Manager at Chaserider Buses said: “We’re making bus travel even more popular, the introduction of revised services 62, 826, 827, 828 and new Service 828A shows we have listened to feedback from local residents who have requested the introduction of a link to the retail and business area at Power Station Road, Rugeley along with school service links reintroduced on service 62. "The successful collaboration between stakeholders, showcases the positive outcomes that can be achieved when local authorities and bus operators work together to provide valuable bus services, improve accessibility and reduce reliance on the car."
